My name is Belinda Garland. This is my 22nd year in the classroom. I received my B.S. in Early Childhood Education at Armstrong and a Masters Degree in K-8 Science from Walden University. Although I am not a native of Effingham County, I completed my student teaching here and after teaching in Chatham County for a year I came back to Effingham County. After getting married, we moved to Rome, Georgia, where I taught in the Rome City School District. I was very happy when I was able to come back "home" to Effingham County. I am excited to begin my first year at Ebenezer in 5th grade. I will be teaming with Mr. Pridgen. I will be teaching ELA (reading, writing and grammar), and Mr. P will be teaching math, science and social studies.
I am married to Rick Garland. We have been married for 19 years. Rick works for Effingham County Hospital System at the Care Center in Springfield as a Physician Assistant. We have 2 children, Grace and Bryce. Grace is an 11th grader at South Effingham High School. Bryce will be attending school with me at Ebenezer Elementary, where he will be in fifth grade. Our family loves to spend time together. We enjoy camping with our friends and family, watching Georgia football, and serving in outreach ministries.
I am looking forward to working with your child. It is going to be an amazing year!
