My name is Courtney Johnson, this is my 3rd year teaching, as well as being in Kindergarten. I love teaching kindergarten because the students are so eager to learn at this age. The students light up when they learn something new and are so proud of their hard work. I enjoy being able to see just how much they grow during the year from beginning to end. Students at this age change so much in what feels like such a short time. I am proud to be able to teach these wonderful children, and learn from them as well.
I am graduated from South Effingham High School in 2012. I attended Armstrong State University and graduated in December 2016, with my Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. After a full year of teaching, I decided to go back to school and now and I am working on a Master's Degree in Reading, Language and Literacy.
Growing up, my dad was in the Navy and we were re-stationed every 3 or so years. I have lived in Maine and Mississippi, but I spent most of my childhood in Florida, between Jacksonville and Key West. In 2008, my dad retired from the Navy and we made Savannah our home for the last 10 years!
I have a little sister, she is pretty much my best friend! I have a fur baby named Marlie, she is a chihuahua/terrier mix. Her bark is worse than her bite, and she loves to cuddle. When I'm not at work I love to spend my time at the beach, shopping, going out to new restaurants or spending time with my family and friends! A few of my favorite things include Starbucks, the color pink, mexican food, anything Disney! I can't wait to meet you, it's going to be a great year!
