    Mrs. Amacher’s Behavior Plan

I expect each student to follow simple classroom rules.  These rules are in place to provide a safe and positive learning environment for all students.

    RULES:

    • BE READY
    • BE RESPONSIBLE
    • BE RESPECTFUL

These simple rules are also aligned with our Leader in Me 7 Habits of Happy Kids. (See the attached habits and their meanings).

To encourage students to follow our class rules, I will support appropriate behavior with praise, encouragement and other rewards.  Should a student choose to make poor choices in behavior, a verbal warning will be given so the student is aware of the choices they are making.  After the second warning the student will be counseled in private to make them aware of possible consequences.  If the students chooses to continue making poor choices, their name will be place on the board and they will lose their sand dollar for the day.  The reason for this will be documented on their behavior log located inside their binder.  If the behavior does not improve after losing their sand dollar it may result in a written form, phone call to the parent, or behavior referral to the principal based on the extent of the action.

Students will earn sand dollars and other rewards throughout the day for making good choices in the classroom.  Sand dollars are collected in their wallets inside the classroom weekly and can be redeemed on Fridays to purchase items located in our treasure box such as; candy, books, pencils, stickers, toys, etc.

Please check your child’s behavior log each day located inside their binder and initial each day.  This log will provide daily behavior notes and the amount of sand dollars earned.

With your help and support, we can provide a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

I have read and discussed the classroom rules and consequences with my child and I will encourage my child to follow them for the benefit of all students in the classroom.
