I am looking forward to another great school year!
This year I am teaching Honors Algebra II, Pre-calculus and AP Statistics.
I taught in Utah, Pennsylvania, Savannah, and South Carolina before moving to Effingham County.   I taught at ECHS for 19 years.  While I was at ECHS, I helped out with the after-school tutoring program as well as summer school and High School Graduation test review sessions.  I have also co-sponsored the Beta Club at ECHS.  This is my second year working at the STEM Academy.
I attended public schools in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada.  After graduating from high school,  I attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education.  After I moved to Effingham County, I continued my education by attending Georgia Southern University, where I earned a Master's and Education Specialist degree in Mathematics Education.
In November 2007, I achieved National Board Certification. Like board-certified doctors and accountants, teachers who achieve National Board Certification have met rigorous standards through intensive study, expert evaluation, self-assessment and peer review.  In 2012, I earned Gifted Certification, and in 2015 I became certified to teach AP Statistics.
I have been married for 26 years and have one daughter, Maggie, who attends the Stem Academy.
