    Mr. Dickerson is a long-time resident of Effingham County and a graduate of Effingham County High School.  He entered the Georgia Air National Guard upon graduating, where he retired after 32 years of service.  Mr. Dickerson graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in Criminal Justice and earned the right to be a die-hard EAGLE FAN.  Upon graduation, he secured a job with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources where he was employed for 12 years as a Conservation Ranger.  He served the people of the great state of Georgia by performing Law Enforcement duties on the water and in the woods enforcing hunting, fishing, and boating safety laws. 
    Notable accomplishments were nominations for Boating Safety Officer of the Year, Wildlife Officer of the Year, Statesboro Optimist Club Officer of the Year, Wild Turkey Federation Investigator of the Year, Promotion to the rank of Corporal.  Mr. Dickerson was assigned numerous special details over the course of his career with DNR/LE to include security for the 1996 Olympic games, and the G-8 summit that took place on St. Simmons Island.  He worked closely with Effingham County Schools in performing Education programs for students at numerous schools in the system.
    A career change landed Mr. Dickerson in pursuit of a teaching certificate and a position in the Career Technical Education branch of Effingham County High School.  He currently teaches High School Students in the Georgia Department of Education program Law & Justice.  Mr. Dickerson is also a graduate of Valdosta State University Adult and Career Education Master's Degree program.  He also completed his Education Specialist degree as a Teacher Leader from Thomas University.
