    ASU Winterfest Honor Band

Armstrong State University hosts a Middle School Band Festival each November for some of the top 7th and 8th grade band students in the Southeast United States.  Students audition by filling out an application and submitting a recording of required performance material (usually comes from the same stuff you are practicing for the District Honor Band!).  Students who apply and are selected for this prestigious band will participate in a three day Winterfest Honor Band in Savannah in November.

Students wishing to audition should let me know as soon as possible.  As always, taking private lessons (see the file on "Band Forms and Files" page, labeled Private Teachers) and also using Smartmusic (www.smartmusic) will help you be more successful.

**Important**  All of the information and audition materials for auditioning for either of these groups can be found at www.gmea.org.  We will go over this in class as well.  I have an informational pamphlet as well - just ask!
