    Mrs. Michelle Van Sickle

I am a Reading Recovery teacher and Literacy Intervention Specialist at Blandford Elementary.  I graduated from Effingham County High School and Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education.  I received Reading Recovery training through Georgia State University.  I began teaching at South Effingham Elementary in 1990 where I taught second grade for nine years.  After having twins, I remained at home with them for five years.  In 2004 I returned to teaching at Rincon Elementary where I taught second grade for two years and Reading Recovery for six years.  This is my seventh year teaching Reading Recovery at Blandford Elementary.  I am excited to also be teaching Reading Recovery at Springfield Elementary this year.

When I'm not teaching, I stay very busy with my family and church.  Our 19 year old twins have just started their second year in college.  I love to read, and hope to pass that love of reading on to my students.
