• By now you have probably heard about the changes to Georgia's curriculum included in the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards (CCGPS).  We are excited about the challenges and are working hard to adapt to the differences that will affect both how students are taught and in the manner by which they are assessed.  Georgia has joined forty-four other states to develop a nationally benchmarked set of standards that will focus on both college and career readiness.  Elementary school is where the foundation for college and career readiness is laid.
     
    Applied writing is now required as a integral part of how students communicate their undertanding of what they have learned.  The standards required in the CCGPS have been tagged as "robust and relevant", and you will see the increase in rigor reflected especially in the areas of English Language Arts and Reading.  You may view your child's standards for yourself at:
