Rebel Radio Videos On Demand
The Story of Our Sign OffIn 2006--our first season of broadcasting football--the Rebels faced a strange week of early release days from school, school holidays, and a Friday football game. The guys got out of their routine before playing Glynn Academy at Rebel Field. We were expected to win the game, have a 6-0 record to face Statesboro the next week, but we ended up losing to Glynn 13-7.Stunned at losing the game, we weren't sure how to end the broadcast, but Andy closed by saying, "Regardless of what happens, have a good Friday evening, a good weekend, and as always Go Rebels."This tradition stuck. We use it to close each broadcast. Brian even started adding it to the close of the morning announcements on Fridays. Graphic Communications teacher Kimberly Larson even used the 'and as always Go Rebels' on the back of the 2010-11 ECHS planners.Students have come to expect it as part of the Rebel culture at ECHS. You can walk into most any classroom on campus and say 'and as always' and any Rebel fan will follow with 'Go Rebels!'
