• About Your Teacher
Hi!  I'm Paula Richardson and I enjoy teaching at Sand Hill.  Kindergarten is my passion!! It's amazing to see the progress these little students make throughout the school year.
My husband and I have been married for 35 years.  We both grew up here and continue to  call Effingham County our home.  In fact, I grew up in the Sand Hill district, so Sand Hill Elementary is especially dear to me.  Right after graduating from Effingham County High School, I got married and I worked in many different fields before deciding to go back to school to earn my teaching degree from Armstrong Atlantic State University.  After earning my undergraduate degree, I worked as a paraprofessional at Springfield Elementary for a few months and then took a teaching position there in kindergarten. During the 6 years that I taught there, I really learned a lot!  I earned a Reading Endorsement certificate, and also joined a co-hort where I earned a masters degree from GSU.
Due to my need of being closer to home and family, and wanting to help out with my nephew, who was beginning pre-k, I transferred to Sand Hill Elementary.  While at Sand Hill, I have taught kindergarten for 24 years and first grade one year.  Being close to my home and family, and working in my community is such a blessing to me!

Some of the things I enjoy doing are: spending time with family, cooking, planting flowers and working in my yard, reading, and making crafts-you can often find me at Michael's and Hobby Lobby.
