The ECHS Ag Department welcomed two new babies to the lab! Mrs. Hunter's Animal Science and Animal Production classes will be taking care of these 12 day old bottle baby calves for the next few weeks! This heifer and bull are twins that were abandoned by their mother. This can be very common in cattle in twin pregnancies- mothers aren't sure how to care for twins because it isn't as common as a single birth.
The class will be conducting health checks, administering medicine, and observing their growth while they regain strength before heading back to their herd. This is an awesome opportunity for our students to engage with animals and we are thankful for the experience!
