  • ECHS High School Transition Class Speaker: Scott Huntley Import Specialist
On Friday, August 29 our High School Transition class at Effingham County High School hosted Senior Import Specialist Scott Huntley to speak with our students. Scott Huntley works with Customs and Border Protection at the Customs house on Bay Street in Savannah,GA. Mr. Huntley spoke to all of the High School Transition classes at ECHS about the role of Customs and Border Protection, his role as an Import Specialist and how a person can start a career with Customs and Border Protection.

One of our main goals with our High School Transition class is to inspire our current 9th grade class to make good decisions, set goals and to graduate high school. We are trying to show our classes that there are many different avenues to achieve success and a multitude of career opportunities available after high school. Mr. Huntley shared his "story" about how he chose his career and the different steps he has taken to get to where is today. Scott engaged our classes with a multimedia presentation that included power-point, pictures and videos and finished each class with a question and answer session.

mission & vision

Our Mission
As a community of learners, in cooperation with stakeholders, our mission is to provide rigorous and relevant instruction in a safe environment to enable all students to obtain a high school diploma as a foundation for post secondary success.
A note from our Principal
What really matters is not so much what students at Effingham County High School walk away with in their hands, but how many sparks we ignite in their hearts. There’s no doubt students want inspiration more than they want stuff. The caring faculty member, not the content, determines whether students at our school walk away ignited or extinguished. Our faculty understands that the influence we have on children is powerful. Be it positive or negative, it is lasting. Read more
