Congrats to Bailey Brado! She competed in balance beam, floor exercise, vault, and uneven parallel bars finishing in 5th place in the State of Georgia in her age division's All-around competition. She qualifies to go to the USAG Region 8 competition in New Orleans in two weeks. She will be competing against other state qualifiers from 9 Southeastern States to go to the National Competition in Boston in May.

Congrats to boys soccer for beating SEHS on 3/8 in sudden death overtime! Jon Slater scored and Colby Pearce had 13 saves at keeper.
A HUGE congratulations to the girls soccer team for their victory over SEHS on 3/8. Suzannah Stone netted the game tying goal in regulation off of an assist from Jillian Nance. Then in penalty kicks, Savannah Epperley, Afton Landrum, and Jillian Nance all scored while Morgan Smith sealed the win with two huge saves.
Shane Rahn was also named the Central Region Star in Agricultural placement and he will compete in the Stars Over Georgia Parade at GA FFA State Convention for the chance to be named the Georgia Star in Agricultural Placement.
Congratulations to ECHS FFA Member Shane Rahn, who has advanced to the state round for his Wildlife Mgmt Placement Proficiency. He will be interviewed during GA State FFA Convention in April and compete against FFA members from across the state. Shane will be competing for the opportunity to represent Georgia in the National Competition in October.

2/5 - Congrats to 4-H members Jennifer Kavanaugh 4th in Performing Arts Instrumental; Natalyn Harris 4th in Food Fare Project with a nearly perfect score in her food demonstration; and Hillary Usher 1st in Performing Arts General project! Hillary will advance to State Congress competition in Atlanta this summer to compete for state awards! Effingham 4-H also received recognition for 2nd most winners and 2nd most improved county.

11/27 - Congrats to the boys varsity basketball team for their wins over Bryan County and Screven County! The boys JV basketball team also defeated Screven County for their first victory of the season.
Congrats to the wrestling team for going 9-1 over the Thanksgiving break! They took first place in Augusta with a 5-0 record and then followed with a 4-1 record at SEHS. Andrew Bushey, Kyle Piche, and Justin Panter all finished with perfect 10-0 records.

Congrats to Marshall Moore, Susan Burke, and Megan Hobby who are members of the FFA nursery landscape team who placed third in the Area 4 Competition on Nov. 16 at Swainsboro High.
On Nov. 11, your ECHS Competition Cheerleaders traveled to Columbus to compete in the sectionals round of the state cheerleading finals. On Nov. 12y, ECHS was one of only 8 teams out of the 24 teams who had made it to sectionals to advance to the finals on Nov. 13 for the first time in our school's history. ECHS was recognized as being 12th in the entire state, which is the highest that any cheer team from either Effingham high school has ever received. Congratulations ladies on an incredible accomplishment and on your stellar season! You have made ECHS very proud!

For goats, Chris Mathews was 1st and 7th in classes; Orry Smith was third in class; Julia Gonzalez was sixth in class.

Congratulations to ECHS Competition Cheerleaders for their wins on 10/30 at the Rebel Invitational Cheer Competition. Both JV and Varsity did a wonderful job!
Congrats to the Rebel Regiment Marching Band! They won best in class 4A, best overall drumline, best overall marching, best overall music, best overall effect, and were the grand champions of the 1st annual mustang invitational band competition at SEHS on 10/30!
Congrats to the following Chorus students for passing an extremely difficult All-State audition: Tim Wyman, Chandler Pate, Michael Mitchell, Jodi Braselton, Sam Jones, Jacoby Jones, Tyson Neurath, Matt Proctor, and Hillary Usher. This is the third year in a row that ECHS has had nine students pass this audition.

Congratulations to our cattle exhibitors that showed at the fair on 10/21! Joseph Mann placed first in his class with his steer. Lexi DeGenaro (dee-jin-air-o) placed 2nd in her Angus Heifer class. Katie Herndon placed first in class and reserve champion jr angus heifer; 1st in class and champion jr commercial heifer; and reserve champion sr angus heifer. Macy Zittrouer placed 1st in class and champion limousin jr heifer and Grand Champion Jr heifer; she also placed 1st in class and champion commercial sr heifer and Reserve Grand Champion Sr heifer. Cheyanne Mock won senior showmanship, champion angus jr heifer, champion angus sr heifer, champion simmental angus cross sr heifer, and Grand Champion Senior Heifer. Great Job!

Congrats to Cross Country at the Statesboro meet on 10/9! The girls team was third with only three of their top 10 runners available for the race. Top 10 individual finishes from Riley Morrison, Rayne Cartwright, and Salena Calhoun. The boys team won by a comfortable margin, led by Jesse Campbell. Other top 10 finishers were Blaine Ketchum, Scott Fingerlos and Cullen Barringer.

Congratulations to ECHS Competition Cheerleaders for their sweep at the GSU Cheer Competition on 10/2! JV took 1st place and Varsity also took 1st place beating Greenbrier for the first time ever! Varsity also won Grand Champions for having the highest score of all 21 teams competing! Congratulations ladies for a job well done!
Congrats to Cross Country! Girls finished 2nd; boys finished 1st in a field of seven on 10/2. Boys were led by Blaine Ketchum with other top 10 finishes by Jesse Campbell, Tim Jackson,, and Scott Fingerlos. Riley Morrison won the girls’ race by a comfortable margin. Another top 10 finish by Rayne Cartwright. Both teams beat South!
Congrats to the Wildlife Management team who competed in Bleckley County on 9/28. Members are Cheyanne Mock, Orry Smith, Tiffany Hancock, and Shane Rahn. Shane placed first in area 4 for turkey management.
A pair of second place team finishes gave Rebel Cross Country the best combined school score against a field of 13 teams on 9/23 at Wayne County. The boys were led by Jesse Campbell and the girls were led by Riley Morrison with another first place individual finish. Congrats!
Congrats to the Competition Cheerleaders for their first place win in the Raider Rumble on 9/18 beating region competitors Richmond Hill and Statesboro!
Congrats to Dylan Odom for placing third for 12th grade in the Jimmy Carter postcard contest. He won third place last year as an eleventh grader.
Congrats to Rebel Cross Country for another day of domination! Riley Morrison took first place for the girls on 9/18, helping her team bring home the runner-up trophy against eight teams. Hank Campbell took first place in the boys race despite fracturing his foot in the middle of the race, helping his team bring home the first place trophy. Not to be outdone, the JV team destroyed the competition, finishing first by a strong margin.

Congrats to Lady Rebel softball for going 5-0 in the Softball in the Sand tourney in Brunswick Sept. 3-4. They won the Gold Bracket championship!
Congrats to Rebel Cross Country! They dominated on 9/2 at Richmond Hill. Girls finished a strong third against 10 other teams including a first place individual finish. The boys got first place overall by a comfortable margin.
Congrats to Rebel Cross Country! They had their biggest day in team history at the Nike Cross Country kickoff on 8/28! Boys and girls had their highest team finishes ever with 3rd and 9th respectively. Another big first was a first-ever top 10 individual finish for both varsity teams: Hank Campbell and Riley Morrison. The big surprise was the debut of our new junior varsity team who brought home second place for boys and a big first place trophy for the girls!

Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Dukes on the birth of a son, John Keller Dukes IV. He was born 7/19 at 12:55 p.m. He weighed 10lbs and was 21.5" long.
Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Holt on the birth of a daughter, Audrey Faith Holt. She was born on 7/28 at 8:27 a.m. She weighed 9lbs 10oz and was 21" long.
