    Title I A, Federal Programs Host District Parent Advisory Council Meeting

    Effingham County Board of Education invites you to attend a Title I District Parent Advisory Council meeting to be held on Thursday, March 5th at 6:00pm. The goal of this meeting will be to provide the Council with information about the Effingham County School District’s federal programs and how each program functions in each of the Title I schools. In addition, attendees will receive information concerning parental involvement in our school system. This meeting will be held at the Effingham County Board of Education in the Auditorium located at 405 North Ash Street in Springfield, GA. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Sandra W. Nethels at (912) 754-5628 or(912)754-5629.

    La Junta de Educación del Condado de Effingham le invita asistir a la reunión del Consejo Asesor de Padres del distrito el jueves, 5 de Marzo a las 6:00pm.  La meta de esta reunión será proveer información al Consejo sobre los programas federales y como cada uno funciona en las escuelas del Título I.  Además, participantes recibirán información sobre la participación de los padres en nuestro sistema escolar. Esta reunión se llevara a cabo en el auditorio de la oficina central de la Junta de Educación del Condado de Effingham (405 North Ash Street en Springfield, GA).  Si tiene preguntas, por favor llame a la Dra.     Parents are welcome to visit the center anytime during school hours, before PTO meetings, during Parent-Teacher conferences and Family Nights.  The Parent Resource Center is located in the Library.

     At GES we have a Parent Resource Center filled with educational toys, games and other instructional materials for parents to borrow.  The materials that are available consist of various educational toys for parents to help their children while spending quality time with them.

    If you wish to drop off your child in the morning the building opens at 7:30.  Students may begin walking to class at 7:45.  Breakfast is served for K- 5 students beginning at 7:45 to 8:15 and Pre-K after 8:15.  All students must be in class to begin the instructional day by 8:15.  Students arriving on campus after 8:15 must sign-in in the front office and are reported tardy for that day. Any parent wishing to speak to a teacher must report to the front office to make an appointment.  There will be limited interruptions during the instructional day.

A Note from Our Principal
Parents are invited to Family Night, where parents and children together complete activities to help children improve in all areas of the CRCT. Activities include making books together, exploring helpful websites in the Computer Lab, and taking a mock CRCT test together to name a few. Childcare is provided in order to allow the parent uninterrupted individual time with his/her child. Read more
