Here at ECHS students have the opportunity to learn about a variety of different art techniques, styles and artists! Any student interested in taking art begins by taking the Visual Arts Comprehensive course. This class gives students a chance to try all different mediums: drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, fibers, paper making and more!
After successfully completing this course, students can then take courses in which they have an indepth study in a certain medium. This year the options are: Drawing I & II, Painting I & II, Sculpture and Ceramics I, II, and II AND Fibers.
The course follows a discipline based art education approach. That means students in all classes have the opportunity to create art, learn about artists and styles throughout history, learn to critically analyze their art and aesthetics. Students learn about the elements and principles of art as well.
