Congrats to the following girls soccer players for being named to the All-Region team! Senior Meghan Hames, Junior Sydnie VanCure, Sophomore Morgan Smith. Honorable mention are Senior Kaitlyn Dickey, Juniors Taylor Hall, Heather Perry, Sabrina Rawski, and Sophomore Marissa Hamm.
 
The All-Region Team was chosen for boys soccer at the region meeting on 5/11. The All Region team members from ECHS are Dimitri Hill and Hunter McGilvray. Honorable mention went out to Micah Jackson and Tyler Aliffi.
 
Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Millering on the birth of a daughter, Ava Kathryn on 4/21 at 11:44 a.m. She was 7lbs 4oz.

Congrats to Justin Rogers for signing with Brewton Parker College to play baseball! Congrats to Marquel Manior and Quincy Bennett for signing with Brewton Parker College to play basketball! (5/5)

Congrats to the girls golf team on their fourth place finish at state on 5/3! Stephanie Simmons was low-medalist for the Rebels with an 84, followed by Heather Pittman, Chelsea McIntyre, and Kailin Mikulsky.

The boys soccer team lost their state playoff game on 4/27 against Lakeside Evans. Dimitri Hill scored the lone goal. Tyler Aliffi had the assist. The boys finished 8-8 on the season.
 
Congrats to Lady Rebel soccer on a great season! On 4/28, for the second consecutive year, the team saw its season end in penalty kicks as the Rebels lost 3-2 to Evans. Marissa Hamm and Sydnie VanCuren scored the goals in regulation. Sydnie had the Lady Rebels lone penalty kick shootout goal.
 
Chase Arrington signed a National Letter of Intent on April 21 to play basketball at East Georgia College in Swainsboro. Arrington is pictured with, from left to right, East Georgia basketball coach Neal Bailey; his father and ECHS head basketball coach, Donnie Arrington; his mother, Lisa Arrington; and his brother Ryan Arrington.
 
Congrats to the Rebel Track Team for having five runners qualify for state! Tim Jackson qualified for pole vault. Lucy Tarpley won the pole vault. Michael Johnson qualified for the 200m dash. Riley Morrison qualified for the 3200m run. Michael Hamilton qualified for the high jump. Congrats also to Blaine Ketchum for his outstanding performance!

Congrats to the JV soccer boys team for their 1-0 win over Wayne County on 4/15. Bryce Beaver had the only goal.
 
Congrats to the girls JV soccer team for their 3-0 win over Wayne County on 4/15. Amber Pair, Hayley Goodman and Stacy Burgstiner scored a goal. Goalie Christian Stevenson recorded her third shut out of the year.
 
The boys were 2nd overall and the girls were 3rd at the 4/14 meet at Southeast Bulloch High School:

Michael Hamilton finished 2nd in the High Jump

Congrats to the JV boys soccer team for their 3-1 win over Savannah High on 4/13! Bryce Beaver had a PK and Jakeel Bartley had two goals.
 
Congrats to the girls tennis team for qualifying for state playoffs! This is the second time in ECHS history that they have qualified. They beat Statesboro on 4/13 in the region tourney.
 
Congrats to the girls junior varsity soccer team for their 8-0 win over Savannah High on 4/13. These players scored one goal: Morgan Zipperer, Savannah Epperly, Taylor Fulford, and Kaileen Savareese. Hayley Goodman and Marcela Locatelli scored two goals each.
 
Congrats to the JNR team who competed in Dublin on 4/12. Stephen Bray was second in wildlife ID; Jennifer Maddox was third in fish ID; Tori Hodges was second in equipment ID; Sammy Wainwright was second in soil management; Katie Herndon was third in land measurement; Alicia Cole was third in hand compass; and Wesley Mulligan was fifth in tree ID.
 
Congrats to Lucy Tarpley for setting a meet record in the pole vault at the Statesboro Relays on 4/10!

Congrats to boys and girls soccer for their 3-1 wins over SEHS on 4/6! Jon Slater had two goals assisted by Dimitri Hill and Joe Thompson. Jacob Iten had a header assisted by Tyler Aliffi's corner kick. Tyler Riha had 10 saves on goal.
 
Congratulations to the ECHS FFA Forestry Team! They placed 2nd at the Warnell Forestry Field Day on 4/6. Team members were TJ Smith - 3rd in reforestation; Shane Rahn - 3rd in Timber Stand Improvement; Shelby Thomas - Pulpwood estimation; Jennifer Maddox - 3rd Sawtimber estimation; Alicia Thomas - 2nd and Chris Tuten - Hand Compass; Katie Herndon - 3rd and Jason Wilson - 2nd - Land Measurement; Kaley Basile - 3rd in Tree ID; Dylan Oglesby - Ocular Estimation; Stephen Bray - Disorder ID; and Jordan Parker and Sammy Wainwright 2nd for Forest managment. Congrats to the ECHS FFA Ag Mechanics team for winning three of the four first places in the FFA Invitational Welding Contest held on Mar. 24. Kaley Basile was first and Ryan Broome was second in Arc Welding. In MIG Welding, Dillon Youngblood was first, Graham Ambrose was second, and Chris Hinely was fifth. In Oxyacetylene cutting, Skyler Jones was first and Quinton Purdy was second. In Oxyacetylene Brazing, Mary Catherine Smith was second.
 
Congrats to the Track Team on their victory at Statesboro High on 3/25. Timothy Jackson was second in pole vault. Jesse Campbell was second in the 3200. Terry Smith won the 110m hurdles. Michael Johnson won the 200m run. Lucy Tarpley won the pole vault. Riley Morrison won the 1600m and 3200m. Olivia Moreland was second in the 800m run.
 
Congrats to the girls JV soccer team for their first victory of the year on 3/24 vs. Windsor Forest, 1-0. Haley Goodman scored the lone goal and the team did an excellent job of defense!
 
Congrats to Deanna Mathias for placing at State Competition in the Promote and Publicize FCCLA category at the State Leadership meeting in Athens.
 
The ECHS FFA Ag Mechanics team competed on 3/20 at the Georgia State Ag Mechanics CDE and took fifth in state! The team competed against 11 other teams who had qualified to participate in the event by winning first or second in their area. Team members are Jesse Edwards, Skyler Jones, TJ Smith, and Dillon Youngblood. They had to demonstrate skills in oxyacetylene cutting, electrical wiring, and small engines, demonstrate their knowledge of these three areas by taking a 30 question problem solving exam and a 50 question written exam, and demonstrate their ability to work together in a team problem solving activity. Skyler was the third place high individual in the event.
 
Congrats to Miss ECHS 2010 Jessica Heidt! Jessica was also named People's Choice and the interview winner. 4th runner up was Sydnie Van Curen. 3rd was Takeyra Dixon. 2nd was Jamie Allen. 1st runner up was Kiley Ward. Kiley also received as Most Spirit award as well as awards for casual and evening wear. Jessica Terry was most photogenic. Callie Martin received the academic award.
 
Congrats to the boys and girls golf teams for their wins over Metter and Tattnall County on 3/18. Wheaton Hall led the way with a 5-under par 31. Walker Jenkins had a 38; Dylan Anderson shot a 43 and James Rotureau shot a 46. Stephanie Simmons shot a 43 and Chelsea McIntyre and Heather Pittman both shot a 47 to lead the Lady Rebels.

Congrats to the choirs of ECHS. Both the women's chorus and Rebelaires scored straight superior ratings on 3/15 as one of only two choirs to compete at the Class A level, the highest level in the state. The women's chorus also scored an excellent rating in sight reading while the Rebelaires scored superior in sight reading.
 
Congrats to the Wind Ensemble for straight superiors at District Festival on 3/11.
 
Congrats to the boys and girls golf teams on their wins over South Effingham, Wayne County, and Richmond Hill on 3/15. The Rebels were led by low medalist Wheaton Hall and the Lady Rebels were led by Stephanie Simmons and Chelsea McIntyre.
 
GREAT NEWS!!!! As many of you know SkillsUSA had the State Skills & Leadership Conference in Atlanta this past week, March 11-13. We had two students sing at the opening session Thursday night. They did such a GREAT JOB. I overheard many people say that they would try out for "American Idol". You can view their performance at www.youtube.com/echsgraphcom.

    Congrats to Mrs. Huntley's first period class for bringing in the most cans for the FFA's drive for Havest for America. They won breakfast. Mrs. Piotrowski's first period class won the trivia contest! They won a dress down day.

    Congrats to the girls varsity soccer team on their first victory of the season on 2/26 over Ware Co., 1-0. Meaghan Hames shot a penalty kick in the right corner for the lone goal. Teammate Suzanna Stone had been tripped in the penalty box with about 7:30 to go to give Meaghan the penalty kick opportunity.
     
    The golf team finished in ninth place on 2/27 at the Statesboro Invitational. The Rebels were led by Dylan Anderson's 79. He finished tied for 13th overall out of 63.
     
    The Academic Decathlon team competed on 2/27 against 24 teams from Georgia and one from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Brittney McCrae took the silver medal in interview skills and Karlie Persutti placed in the top 12 in six of the 10 events.

Keiffer Shearouse and Lance Coleman won at number two doubles. Varsity wins were Ryan Arrington and Timmy Nixon won at number one doubles. Hunter Smith and Race Baker won at number two doubles.
     
    Congrats to boys soccer for their 3-1 win over Savannah Arts Academy on 2/23. Zack Monteleone, Larry Spradley, and Dimitri Hill scored.
     
    Congrats to Casey Herrington for placing third at State on 2/20 in the Georgia State Wrestling Tournament. He finished the year 49-7 and a team high 28 pins. He ended his high school career as one of the best wrestlers to ever compete for ECHS! (2/20)
     
    Congrats to girls varsity bball for the victory over Ware County on 2/15 in the region tourney, 45-43. The Lady Rebels advance to the Class AAAA state tourney! Demetria Boston scored 22 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead the Lady Rebels to victory.

    Congrats to the Ag Mechanics Team on 2/9! They placed first in the area with a team score of 1195 out of 1650! Dillon Youngblood was first place high individual; Skyler Jones was 2nd, Jesse Edwards was third and T. J Smith was ninth. They will travel to State on 3/20. Thanks also to Graham Ambrose and Josh Cribbs for providing very strong competition, commitment, and dedication to the team.

    Congrats to the wrestling team for qualifying all 14 wrestlers on the varsity line-up to sectionals in Atlanta! Jamelle Jaudon, Kyle Piche, Andrew Bushey, Casey Herrington and Joey Jerome are all region champions. Justin Panter, Jordan Ginn, and Brandon Macklunis placed second. Steven Shores and Tavon Powell placed third. Justin Frederick, Andreas Stefan, Ken Norton, and Sawyer Hunt placed fourth.

    Congrats to the boys basketball teams for their two varsity wins on 1/30. The JV boys also defeated Savannah Christian on 1/30. The boys varsity is now 12-10 and the JV boys are 10-5.
     
    Congrats to the wrestling team for defeating Johnson High 43-29 and Southeast Bulloch 66-15 to end their season. Justin Panter, Jordan Ginn, and Brandon Macklunis all had two pins for the night. Regi, on tourney is 2/6 in Brunswick.

    The French Club would like to thank everyone for their participation in the first annual turkey teacher compitition. With your help, we raised $277. We were able to feed 10 homeless families at our school with a turkey and a $15 gift card from Krogers. Now for the moment each of you has been waiting for. Mrs. Daniels is the winner of the Teacher Turkey. She raised $57.04. 2nd place was Mrs. Ike. 3rd place was Mrs. Morgan. 4th place was Coach Munch.5th place was Mr. Carnes.

    Congrats to Cross Country! Riley Morrison took first place and Brooke Stiltner took a close third, leading their team to a second place finish at the Richmond Hill meet on 8/26. The boys won the meet w, ith an unprecedented first-second-third finish from Tim Jackson, Hank Campbell, and Tyler Aliffi.

    Congrats to Volleyball Lady Rebels! The JV team beat Sav Arts 25-20 and 25-18 on Aug. 18. Erica Orr had 3 kills and 3 aces and the set winning ace went to Taylor Colmer.
