The boys' team did a fantastic job at state, soundly beating region competitors Wayne and Ware. They actually beat nine AAAA teams, and ran as well as they've been running all year. Check out the results and photos at http://ga.milesplit.us/
REBELS MAKE REGION 2AAAA
RUNNER-UP!!!
The boys team placed second at the reigon meet last Thursday in Jesup, defeating Statesboro, Glynn Academy, Brunswick, Ware and Wayne Counties. They will move on to the State Championship in Carrollton, GA on November 8th. This is the first time the team has been to state since 2002.
The girls tied for fourth place, but lost the tie-breaker, therefore the team did not qualify for state. Freshman Riley Morrisson placed 5th overall, landing in the top six which automatically qualify for state as individuals. This means she will be joining the boys team in Carrollton. The girls had a fantastic season- every bit as good as the boys, but the parts didn't fall into place on that particular date. Thanks and congratulations to both teams on their unprecedented accomplishment this season at ECHS.
