Process for registering upcoming Kindergarten students
2010-11 School Year

NOTE: These procedures only apply to first time Kindergarten students not currently participating in an Effingham County BOE Pre-K program. Students attending a Pre-K Lottery program at the Central Learning Center, Marlow Learning Center, Effingham County High School, or South Effingham High School, as well as those served by the Preschool Intervention (PSI) program, are NOT required to register at the Central Registration Center.

1. Call the Effingham County Board of Education Central Registration Center at 912-754-2530 to set up an appointment for registration as soon as possible.

2. If your child's immunizations are not current or were last issued in another state, call to schedule an appointment with your child's health care provider or the Effingham County Health Department. Be sure to call for immunization appointments at least 2-3 weeks in advance to ensure that your child's immunizations are received prior to your registration appointment.

3. All first time Kindergarten students are required to have an Ear, Eye, Dental exam. You may choose to have your child's health care provider conduct this exam. Otherwise, the Effingham County Health Department will be giving exams on site on the days of registration between the hours of 8:30 – 4:00. Cost is $10 and must be paid in cash.

4. You may fill and complete the required registration forms in advance by visiting the Central Registration Center page.

5. On the day of registration, bring your child with you. Kindergarten readiness and speech assessments will be conducted on that day. The location of registration is:
